It was a BLAST!

Ok, so there was a little rain... but it was a fantastic day. Thanks to everyone for coming out. Thanks to the City of Maitland for putting the rush on for us. Thanks to Tolla's for handling our group with grace and poise. Please note, James could use a thank you from everyone for all of his hard work in lining up the locations and bringing a household worth of stuff to make things run smoothly. George has been an absolute hero with the technology, the name tags, the marshmallows, and always being right there when needed!

There are some images up in the gallery taken by yours truly. Please remember that we would love to showcase your work if you took some shots at the greet. Whether model portfolio shots, scenery shots, or general group shots, please let me know if we can post your images on the site!

Thank you to all, and to all a good night!

The Final Few Touches:

In the last few days before the Meet and Greet there are a few things we must cover:

1. Liability

Everyone attending the shoot portion of the Meet and Greet must sign a waiver holding the city and the organizers of the meet harmless. You will do this and receive your name tags at the same time. If you cannot produce a name tag, we will assume you haven't signed the waiver, so hold onto those suckers.

2. Cleanliness

When we leave, it will be as we found it. If the city needs to come in and clean, we will have a fine we cannot afford to pay, as well as having the City of Maitland annoyed with us, something we also cannot afford. Please keep the park as clean, if not cleaner than you found it.

3. Safety

Wading in Lake Lily is not an option. There is at least one alligator they know of, and we do not want anyone or the reptile potentially hurt.

Fires are strictly prohibited.

4. Courtesy

Nudity is not allowed.

Please do not take pictures of people without prior consent. There will be people there, other than those attending our meet and greet. Making them angry will be bad for us.

The Maitland Historical Society will be allowing us to shoot on their porches provided we do not set off the motion detector alarms (lots of vibration/stomping is bad) and we don't interfere with their patrons. Please leave the buildings undamaged, and attempt to hold your shots for these locations until after 4 P.M. (as that is when the museum closes).

They have also mentioned that if anyone wants to shoot there regularly, please ask about becoming a business member.

5. Parking

There is quite a bit of parking at Lake Lily. We will be posting a map for ya'll soon. The parking we have available is NOT to be confused with the Civic Center parking. If we are out of parking, please park across the street in the BANK parking lot.
Do not park by the Dance Studio there. You WILL be towed.

6. Power

Power will be located throughout the park on black posts. The city will be turning these on for us. This will enable us to use strobes. If you're in doubt about where you'll be able to use your equipment, please bring extension cables. You'll need them.

If you plan on shooting in the gazebo, there are power points on basically every post, so you're set.

7. Food, Drinks and Tables. OH MY!

We need people to bring Food, Drinks, Tables and Mirrors (as the bathrooms have none.)
Yes, we will still be meeting at Tolla's after the Meet, however we will be shooting for 4 hours in hot, humid weather. Please bring something for your self, and a bit extra. And, if you can, try to let one of us know what you are bringing.

8. Wardrobe Swap

The Wardrobe Swap table will be located near the Bathrooms and the Waiver Location. If you have clothing you'd like to swap...

Honestly, I don't know how this is going to work, I'm just putting it here so people know it's happening.

See you guys SATURDAY!

Location, Location, Location

At long, bloody last we have a location!
The gracious City of Maitland has helped us to secure Lake Lily Park.

With this final (and important) bit of information in place, we now can finish the rest of our plans.

We will be meeting at Lake Lily Park ( 701 Lake Lily Drive Maitland, FL ) for the shoot portion of our meeting at 2 P.M. We will then adjourn for dinner at 6, and head over to Tolla's Italian Restaurant and Deli for Dinner. For more information on both of these locations, check the Locations link in the sidebar.

Look forward to seeing you all THIS SATURDAY!

And the date is back!

That's right, folks, we're back to January 26th, and the Maitland Art Center be damned.

James is still working on the where part for the shoot, but our plan is now to shoot from 2-6, and hit up Tolla's from 6-8 to hang out, chat, eat and generally... meet and greet.

We'll have details on the shoot locale up as soon as it's available.

Wrench Meet Works

The Maitland Art Center has currently booked both January 26th AND 27th for weddings. We need to find either a new location, or move our date.

We'll keep you up to date.

Also note: new format for the main page. Hopefully it will be easier to use and we may get our other Organizers to update here as well!

Site Updates!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

FYI for everyone: The date may be changing from January 26th to January 27th. Please stay tuned for updates.

As zero hour draws near, you may have noticed several visual and functional updates to the site.

Things to note are the Attendee Lists, broken down by type or showing all. (In the future, look for cut down more printer friendly versions). Our Locations page is up as well. Be aware there are links to maps for both locations. Placeholder pages for Volunteers and Contributors have been added as well. If anyone has more info for these pages, please notify me through the Mayhem, MM# 457871.
